Bude is the most remote town we cover on the Cornish side, and the reason is the road. It sits on the A39 along the north coast, well away from the A30, and there is no fast way to it from anywhere.
That shapes how we work here. A Bude job is a planned job, and it is the one place where combining deliveries genuinely changes the price.

The Atlantic Highway is not a motorway
The A39 north from Wadebridge is a good road by north Cornwall standards, but it is single carriageway with slow sections and it is not quick. Coming in from Devon via Holsworthy is often the better route depending on where the load starts.
The town itself is compact and reasonably workable, with the canal and the harbour area at its centre.
Out of town the story is familiar: high-hedged lanes, exposed clifftop properties, and ground that is softer than it looks after any amount of rain. The wind on this coast is a real factor for lifting, and we will not work a high lift in it.
