Plymouth is the largest city in the far south west and the biggest single source of work in Devon for us. It is a naval city, an industrial one and a university one all at once, and the lifting work reflects every part of that.
It is also close. Over the Tamar Bridge from Saltash and we are there, which means Plymouth jobs combine easily with Cornish ones and frequently do.

The A38 Devon Expressway runs along the top of the city with good junctions, and the industrial areas at Estover, Marsh Mills and out towards Plympton are all easy to reach and easy to work in.
The older parts — the Barbican, Stonehouse, the streets above the Hoe — are a different job entirely. Narrow, steeply graded, and with a great deal of on-street parking, so a lift from the road over a building is often the only way in.
The dockyard and the naval establishments have their own access and security requirements, and those need arranging in advance rather than on the day.
